They are local and they have a sound that I like. It’s Rock, it’s Guitar and Drums and they have hidden for a long time from me. I’ve discovered them, once more, on the radio, and was frantic to see them live. Because they’re local, because they sound fresh and just so energetic.
But true to their name, from my first time on the radio and now, The Hydden had concert dates constantly either abroad or on days when I already had other things in the agenda. well the did until that monday just right after Les Eurockéennes, and even to me it seemed a bit exaggerated to go to one more concert after four intense nights, but I took it as an occasion to come off the festival-mood and a try to get back into the real life. Let my colleagues tell you whether that worked out or not.
The evening itself worked out just fine. I was standing in the front line for the first set, met some friends in the break and contend to be with them in the second row for the second set. It was a warm and shiny summer night, with that local guy and the second one who lives up on a mountain behind a tree, a band who played a free concert with a hat going round. Their music is true and they definitely enjoy playing, and they just could be your next-door neighbours, at least that’s how they came across chatting to the enthusiast public after the concert.
Check them out, if Rock was ever just slightly on your agenda!
